A 4-Week Strength & Repair Routine for Damaged Hair


If your hair has been through it — heat, colour, chemicals, or just a long stretch of not being cared for — you don't need to start over. You need a recovery plan.

This 4-week routine is designed to rebuild your hair's strength and restore its health from the inside out. It's not a miracle fix. It's a consistent, gentle approach that gives your hair exactly what it needs to recover.


Week 1: Cleanse and Reset

Start by stripping away product buildup and giving your scalp a proper reset. Wash with MPL Charcoal Shampoo — the activated charcoal draws out impurities without over-stripping. Follow immediately with MPL Charcoal Conditioner, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before rinsing. This week, keep manipulation minimal. No heat, no tight styles. Let your hair breathe.

 

Week 2: Protein + Deep Treatment

This is the week to address structural damage. Before washing, apply MPL Fermented Rice Water to dry hair and leave it for 20–30 minutes. The amino acids in the rice water help to temporarily repair and strengthen the hair shaft. After rinsing, wash as usual, then apply MPL Hair Treatment 5 Oils as your deep conditioner. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes with a plastic cap and a warm towel. This step is non-negotiable.

 

Week 3: Moisture Intensive

After last week's protein treatment, it's time to bring moisture back in. Wash as usual and do a moisture-focused deep condition. Your regular conditioner left on for 20–30 minutes works well here. For the rest of the week, use the LOC method on your hair daily or every other day: leave-in conditioner, then MPL Olive Hair Oil, then a cream or butter to seal it all in. This locks in moisture and keeps breakage to a minimum.

 

Week 4: Seal and Protect

Your final week is about locking in your progress. Wash and deep condition as usual. This week, focus on protective styling, anything that keeps your ends tucked away and reduces friction. Before bed every night, seal your ends with a light oil (MPL Coconut Hair Oil or MPL Vitamin E Hair Oil both work beautifully), and always sleep on satin.

 

After 4 weeks, take stock. Your hair should feel noticeably stronger and look more vibrant. This routine isn't meant to be a one-off, it's a reset you can return to any time your hair needs it.
