We live in such a busy time that taking good care of yourself needs to be even scheduled into your diary. The biggest mistake we make is when we glorify being busy, too busy to even take good care of our hair, wash-day is a mission, never mind a day solely dedicated to your wellbeing. This is what we have become part of, a hamster wheel. We have gathered some highly recommended activities for your self-care day.
Go for a run and grab a smoothie on the way back – Nothing motivates one to go for a run knowing at the end of it all is a cold freshly blended smoothie. It releases some endorphins (happy hormones) and you will stay happy.
Walk to the park and read a book under a tree – clear your mind, pay attention to the scenery around you, take in each sound and what you see. Sit under a tree and read a book, zone out from your daily activities.
Take a yoga class or meditate – Yoga is good for your overall wellbeing, it works on the mind, body and soul. Even pilates are a great form of exercise. Meditation helps to calm your mind and think clearly.
Write in a journal – Formulate all your thoughts in your journal. Do not leave any thoughts unwritten. Make your journal your outlet of any thoughts that may be going through your mind. Writing down your thoughts clears your mind.
Create a vision board – gather some magazines and start formulating your dreams in pictures creating a vision board. This is an instant mood booster that will have you optimistic about your future resulting in living for a purpose.
Book a manicure and pedicure appointment – Book a day at the spa. If you are strapped down with cash a simple gelish manicure will suffice.
It’s important to take good care of your hair but don’t forget to nourish what’s beneath it all, your mind. Feed your mind with good words and don’t neglect your physical health too.
Remember that self-love and self-care are imperative.
